The peak of the Cimon towers on the beautiful Baita Segantini, one of the most fascinating spot of the Dolomites. The particular position, embedded in three different mountain ranges makes this valley a very special one: the dolomitic groups of Pale di San Martino and Lagorai dominates the Northern and Western sides of the area, while the mountain range of Vette Feltrine embraces the Southern side.<\/p>\n<p>The rocky throat of the Schen\u00e8r represents the main access from South, and the area of Belluno. The valley lies at the bottom of the Pale di San Martino, dominated by the peaks of cima Mulaz and Cimon della Pala. The name Venegia refers to Venice and the ancient activity of selling to the Queen of Adriatic the precious wood of these forests, which floated along several rivers and finally reached the beautiful city of the Serenissima. On an altitude of 2500 meters, this rocky plateau is surrounded by several peaks: a wild moon landscape which can be easily explored through the many paths and trails that lead to different alpine huts opened all over the Summer. This wonderful landscape, with the ancient pastures and the dense forests, is amazing to discover in every season of the year \u2013 as a matter of fact, this uncontaminated area was chosen by the french director Jean Jacque Annaud to shoot several scenes of The Bear, a 1988 movie which won several awards and nominations.
