San Martino - Passo Rolle Ski Area

Over 60 kilometers at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, between about 1400 and 2360 meters.

The San Martino di Castrozza – Passo Rolle Ski Area has a unique position in the southern part of the Dolomiti Superski resort, which determines never too low temperatures and sunny weather: the perfect climate to enjoy Winter sports!
The very well maintained slopes, about 6o kilometers of trails with an altitude between 1400 and 2360 meters and a 95% of planned snow cover, find themselves in the amazing scenario of the Pale di San Martino.

The slopes of this area are among the most beautiful in the Dolomites: just in front of the stunning landscape of the Pale di San Martino, the Tognola Uno slope with its technical features, the over 1000 meters of difference in height and the unique panorama is a real paradise also for the most demanding skier. In the Ces Area, Cristiania or Direttissima are slopes reserved to real experts skiers.

MUST-SKI SLOPES IN SAN MARTINO DI CASTROZZA

Tognola Uno

The Tognola Uno slope connects the top of the mountain to the downstream start of the Tognola gondolas, and is ranked amongst the 10 most beautiful slopes of the Dolomites: a 5 kilometers slope surrounded by the stunning scenario of Dolomites, from Marmolada to the Pale di San Martino, characterised by fast curves and several gradients. On the final section, a crossroads lead on two different tracks: a level one or a very steep one. The slope is FISI type-approved for Slalom and Giant Slalom.

Cima Tognola

A 6 kilometers red slope of great satisfaction, with several gradients, curves and exposures. It starts from Cima Tognola (2359 m) and then plugs into the Rododendro slope and then in the Tognola 3, with a difference in height of 900 meters.

Cristiania

The Northern exposure of this slope guarantees the best snow conditions also during the very sunny days. Very steep sections and fast flat spots make this slope, which descends from Cima Tognola to Malga Valcigolera, a very technical one.

Colverde

A 2.6 kilometers slope which descends from the bottom of the Pale di San Martino, and goes through larch and spruce forests, a medium level track with different gradients and changes of directions. The programmed snow cover guarantees the best conditions for skiing during the entire season, while a modern lighting system permits night skiing three nights per week.

Carosello delle Malghe

The Carosello delle Malghe ski circuit stretches from Alpe Tognola to Punta Ces, with 45 kilometers of well connected slopes with an altitude between 1400 and 2360 meters. The two accesses are from the start of the Tognola gondolas or from the start of the Ces chair lift. Different exposures and inclines guarantee the best snow conditions in the morning and in the afternoon, and make this circuit a very interesting one for every skier.

Colverde - Rosetta

Located on the Eastern side of San Martino di Castrozza, the Colverde gondolas and the Rosetta cable-car offer the possibility to reach the Rosetta plateau (ca. 2600 m) in less than 20 minutes. Two slopes of remarkable length descend from Colverde hut to San Martino and make during the Winter the happiness of several skiers – also three nights per week, while in Summer they become amazing trails to walk on.

Prà delle Nasse

The school camp Prà delle Nasse is the right place for ski-learning: just a few steps far away from the town, this camp has 2 wide level slopes, with a double ski lift and a tapis-roulant, the perfect location for kids and beginners. In Prà delle Nasse, the Nasse Park gives also the chance to have fun on the snow with a specific slope for bobsleds, sleighs and rafts.

Passo Rolle

The Passo Rolle Ski Area is located at the bottom of the Cimon della Pala massif, on an altitude of 2000 meters. Its position guarantees a very long ski season, which normally starts at the end of November and ends after Easter. The unique Landscape of Dolomites surrounds this Ski Area, which offers every skier high standard slopes with different level of difficulty all over the Winter.

Freeride & Freestyle

Freestyle skiers will enjoy the best time in the three Snow Parks of the San Martino – Passo Rolle Ski Area: the San Martino Snowpark of the Alpe Tognola offers long and different level lines and a Family Fun Line for the kids’ entertainment. Rolle Railz Park in Passo Rolle gives every rider the chance of a very long Winter season, while Colverde Snowpark is open also 3 nights per week. The wild mountain land with its forests and wide open spaces on an altitude of 2000 meters, is a paradise to discover for the freeriders. Powder, fresh snow, speed bumps and natural jumps make this area the perfect place for freeriding all over the Winter season.
The teachers of two different Ski and snowboard schools give every guest the possibility to learn or improve their Ski technique.

Cross-Country Ski

San Martino di Castrozza and the area of Primiero valley give the chance to cross-country skiers to practice also by night and enjoy the land through more than 30 kilometers of well-maintained racetracks. On an altitude of 1600 meters, the 8 kilometers track of Calaita lake offers a stunning view on the Pale di San Martino; the Passo Cereda trail boasts a total length of 15 kilometers, while the cross-country ring of Imèr permits to skii also by night. From San Martino di Castrozza, in a few minutes it is possible to reach a 9 kilometers circuit on three different trails which lead on the sunny spot of Prà delle Nasse, and a route goes through the dense spruce forest beyond Rio Valcigolera towards Colfosco.

Ski-Mountaineering

The wild landscapes of the Pale di San Martino and the Lagorai mountain range are the perfect location also for Ski mountaineering lovers. Several tracks of different levels and lengths explore the uncontaminated nature: from the off-the-track trails to more demanding crossing trails, the breathtaking descents will make every skier happy.

Snowshoes hiking
